Step 1: Obtain authorization

To subscribe to webhooks, you must first obtain client authorization via OAuth. You will be requesting these credentials on the behalf of your own application, so there will not be an OAuth permissions dialog; you are only required to provide your application Key and Secret.

To generate an application access token, you’ll need to initiate a POST request to https://accounts-sandbox.dwolla.com/token in our Sandbox environment or https://accounts.dwolla.com/token in our production environment. Your client credentials are passed via Basic Auth in the request to Dwolla’s Authorization Server including the Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded header with grant_type=client_credentials in the body of the request.
